Woven in The Stars

When interior designer Sasha Bikoff is looking for personal and professional guidance, she turns to the night sky. “There is something very personal, uplifting and beautiful about reading stars and trying to be able to navigate life through signs,” says Bikoff, a Virgo and Susan Miller follower. “Believing in a higher spirituality enhances my creativity and allows me to think outside the box.” For Bikoff’s latest rug design, which was woven by Stark, she was inspired by French art deco illustrations of the zodiac. “Designed in a sphere to emulate the world, it’s meant to connect with people on a deeper level and mimic the colors of a midnight sky,” she says. “It’s mysterious and feels intellectual, if done in a tasteful way. I’m a born-and-bred New Yorker, so I would style it in a penthouse with floor-to-ceiling windows with a classic skyline shimmering in the background. Since we can’t see the stars in the city, I hope the carpet makes up for that.” Eight-foot round from $9,400, 12-foot round from $21,100, 1stdibs.com
