Whether you’re considering a simple residential refresh or an extensive revamp, before you start picking out fabrics and finishes, grab a copy of The Curated Home: A Fresh Take on Tradition, the just-released book by Grant K. Gibson.

“I wanted to show people my process—especially how to find inspiration from travels and bring them back to integrate into their own rooms,” says the interior designer, who recently began offering tailored trips for the design-minded. (Since a December excursion to India quickly sold out, Gibson is working on another one for early 2019.)

Based in San Francisco, he works on projects scattered throughout Northern California, from Sonoma County to Silicon Valley. Gibson’s impressive range of styles is showcased in the more than 200 pages of The Curated Home. Meet the talented designer himself at a book signing at Emily Joubert in Woodside on Oct. 25. 3036 Woodside Road
