Wilkes Bashford opens a dazzling luxury brand destination in Palo Alto.
Wilkes Bashford’s new Palo Alto space offers a range of new boutiques, including Brunello Cucinelli.
The first thing customers will notice about the newly opened Wilkes Bashford (wilkesbashford.mitchellstores.com) is that the retailer included a mind-blowing array of luxe brands in 25,000 square feet. It feels like a fashion dream, with new showrooms for new boutiques featuring Brunello Cucinelli, Kiton, Zegna and Brioni.
The impressive lineup for the new space, located in the Palo Alto Shopping Center, includes over 41 new and expanded collections from renowned designers like Valentino, Bottega Veneta, Khaite, Thom Browne, Lanvin, Odeeh, The Row, Canali, Veronica Beard, Jimmy Choo and Dolce & Gabbana— quite the roster if you’re keeping track (and we definitely are).

Bob Mitchell, Wilkes Bashford’s co-CEO, doesn’t mince words about the brand’s success in the Bay Area and beyond. It’s all about the customer and in-store services. “We know our markets and customers unlike any other retailer,” he says. “We offer long-term, professional stylists who work with clients for decades, providing an unparalleled shopping experience.”
The new space—three times its former size—also features 21 fine jewelry cases, an espresso bar and a spacious private VIP suite upstairs with a plush living room and a full kitchen for catering. Customers can spend a day with style advisors as they showcase new collections.
The light-filled showroom features brands like Canali, Veronica Beard, Jimmy Choo and Dolce & Gabbana.
Designed by the renowned San Francisco architecture firm Gensler (gensler.com), the store draws inspiration from the Italian term “costiera,” meaning coastal. The space reflects a bright, airy aesthetic, incorporating natural materials and elements that pay homage to California’s iconic coastlines. The fashion hot spot is now the largest multi-brand specialty store in the nation. Here’s to a winter of great finds.
