On Thursday, May 10th, U.S Trust and Modern Luxury Silicon Valley magazine were pleased to partner together to produce an event that highlighted an important topic: how big corporations and nonprofits can work together to create a healthier planet for all living organisms. The event was held at the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley in Palo Alto from 8:30-11:30 am. Breakfast and networking kicked off the event and guests later moved into the ballroom area where Silicon Valley magazine’s group editor, Jon Steinberg led a fireside chat with Wendy Schmidt to discuss her triumphs with The Schmidt Family Foundation and the Schmidt Ocean Insistute; guests in attendance had the opportunity to ask questions. The later half of the day was a panel discussion led by Ann Limberg, head of philanthropic and family office solutions for U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management. Ann led the panel discussion with the following panelists: Annie Leonard, Executive Director of Greenpeace USA; Kathleen Hughes,founder & Executive Director of Ada’s Cafe; Anuradha Mittal, Executive Director & Founder of the Oakland Institute; Melissa Garren, COO & Chief Scientist at Pelagic Data Systems.
