When Cecelia Lau moved to London with her husband in 2012, she missed the high-quality tea she was accustomed to drinking. Spurning the tea bags on the market, she traveled to Japan, China and Taiwan to research higher quality loose teas. In staying with family growers, she learned that “inorganic and unsustainable farming is destroying the mountains,” she says. A new business brewed: London Tea Club, a box service featuring natural and organic teas. The Portola Valley entrepreneur’s favorite is a rare purple tea sourced in China’s Yunnan province.
