The first ever Sonoma Epicurean Weekend, from March 31 to April 3, featured of a series of events and experiences in Sonoma County's wine country. Appearances from award-winning chefs, local artisans and world-class vintners were all on the roster.
Proceeds from the event went to fundraising for the V Foundation for Cancer Research through the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund. By the end of the weekend, $2.4 million was raised, bringing its all-time total to $290,000,000 in cancer research grants.
The event, produced with media sponsor San Francisco magazine, started off strong with the Epicurean Winery Dinners, featuring chefs Charlie Palmer of Dry Creek Kitchen and Hotel Healdsburg, Dustin Valette of Valette and The Matheson, and Jaron Dubinsky, executive chef at Montage Healdsburg. Later in the weekend was the Culinary Artisan Series, the Epic Party at Mayacama Golf Club, the Wellness Breakfast and EpiCUREean Symposium.
“We couldn’t be happier with the success of this inaugural program in Sonoma County’s beautiful wine country,” says CEO of the V Foundation Shane Jacobson. “[The] weekend was an immersive experience, where we stood shoulder to shoulder with supporters as one team and engaged with the doctors who are on the front lines.
