San Francisco’s a lure for international travelers, but, increasingly, so is Silicon Valley, one reason two airlines have recently introduced new flights from tech hubs in Europe and the Middle East. Air Italy offers nonstop flights aboard an Airbus A330-200 from Milan to SFO. Its business class has 24 flatbed seats, Champagne service, and dining on demand with customizable menus. Meanwhile, El Al offers nonstops from Tel Aviv on 787 Dreamliners with lie-flat seats in business class in a configuration allowing aisle access for every seat. The new options are a boon for those visiting the Bay Area (100,000 from Italy each year)—and vice versa too.
