If you haven’t checked out the Jenni Kayne boutique yet—it’s among the many 2016 additions to Stanford Shopping Center—mark your calendars for March 21 (specifically, 6 to 8 p.m.), when there’s an extra incentive to visit (and buy).
The fashion designer is hosting the official opening celebration alongside Beyond Type 1, a Menlo Park-based nonprofit. “Beyond Type 1 is bridging the gap from diagnosis to cure, impacting millions of lives each day and changing the face of Type 1 diabetes around the world,” says Juliet de Baubigny, the organization’s co-founder and a partner at venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins. “With Jenni, we share a passion for living well today. And fundraising events such as this allow people living with Type 1 diabetes to live beyond their diagnosis—thriving—on the way to a cure.”
During the event, 20 percent of proceeds from the sale of merchandise, which includes women’s clothing, shoes, handbags and housewares that exude Kayne’s California-cool aesthetic, will be donated to Beyond Type 1. 180 El Camino Real, Palo Alto.
