Some major star power is coming to town this summer: The Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic features big names in women’s tennis. Among those comprising the 28-player singles field are 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams; five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova; defending champion and US Open finalist Madison Keys; and last year’s singles finalist, CoCo Vandeweghe. The main draw will also include 16 doubles teams.
In announcing her participation in the event, Williams noted that as a California native, she’s found “the fans in the Bay Area have always been incredibly supportive.” The tournament—formerly the Bank of the West Classic that took place at Stanford University—will be held at San Jose State University’s new Spartan Tennis Complex, July 30 to Aug. 5. Weeklong packages $840-$1,190
