Pitch Perfect

Andaz Scottsdale
Although its midcentury-modern aesthetic sports pops of many colors, the 201-room Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa clearly favors black and orange. For its second-ever Cactus League season, the Suite Life for Giants Fans package (from $1,999 per night, two-night minimum) includes a stay in one of the two largest suites, two tickets to a Giants home game (or another game, if the Giants aren’t playing), and a $50 Uber gift card, plus other perks. Meanwhile, the 23-acre resort’s popular, pool-view Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen will serve Anchor Steam on tap and a spin on Gilroy garlic fries; for breakfast, swing for the avocado toast. The Palo Verde Spa & Apothecary, which opened last summer, can give any guest something to cheer about, including a private pool and custom-blended botanical treatments. Rooms from $399, suites from $2,500, 6114 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, 480.368.1234

Mountain Shadows
Last fall’s debut of Mountain Shadows marked the second at-bat for this former Hollywood hideaway, tucked between Camelback and Mummy mountains in elite Paradise Valley. The original golf course resort, opened in 1959, has been completely rebuilt, from the 18-hole links to the 183-unit lodgings. The new Short Course’s par-3 holes are playable in under three hours, leaving plenty of time for nine innings later in the day. Dining options also hit the ball out of the park, from the hearty, locally sourced grilled fare at Hearth ’61 (a vibrant local hangout) to casual-chic cuisine at Rusty’s, the playful clubhouse. The midcentury-modern-inspired concrete-walled guest rooms make for cool oases, literally and figuratively, while a residential wing offers even more stylish room to spread out, close to the Citizens Club pool. Rooms from $329, condos from $599, two bedrooms from $999, 5445 E. Lincoln Drive, Paradise Valley, 855.485.1417

The Phoenician
For the perfect doubleheader, match your stadium time with an equal amount of lounging by The Phoenician’s newly renovated, triple-tiered Phoenician Pools. The resort’s iconic centerpiece now offers reserved lounges for families and reserved cabanas in an adults-only section, plus a new restaurant, the Kalio Kabobery. In 2016 the Luxury Collection resort also redesigned all 645 guest rooms and casitas, including the 60 hillside Canyon Suites, a five-star hotel-within-a-hotel that features its own infinity pool and daily artisan breakfast. A new three-story spa and fitness center is set to debut in March, followed in early April by the Phoenician Athletic Club. The latter’s Fitness On Demand technology will provide hundreds of virtual-reality exercise classes, just in case the former’s real-life yoga and cardio classes don’t suit. Rooms from $479, casitas from $579, Canyon Suites from $1,025, 600 E. Camelback Road, Scottsdale, 480.941.8200
