Flashy bravado is crucial to any rock ‘n’ roll sense of identity, which The Rolling Stones (namely Mick Jagger) have long taken seriously.
Their most recent example is a new collaboration with Nixon. The limited edition watch capsule comes in two installments, and fans of the music legends are going to want to be on top of the release.
Timed during The Rolling Stone’s 60th anniversary, Nixon will debut the first part of the collection on Aug. 30 with the second drop to follow later in 2022.
In partnership with Bravado, Nixon x The Rolling Stones collaboration remasters rock’s greatest logo for a luxury watch edition that’s both tasteful and artistic. It continues Nixon’s tradition of collaborating with music’s greatest legends. Previously, the California-based watch and accessories brand has teamed up with Metallica, Grateful Dead, The Beastie Boys’ Mike D, Pete Townshend, Tom Waits, Ozzie Osbourne and Ringo Starr.
The most coveted watch from the collection is perhaps The Rolling Stones Primacy. A polished silver wristwatch, all the flair comes from the eye catching tongue at the center, embellished by gold watch hands. What’s more, just 250 of these timepieces will be produced.
For Stones fans who tend to opt for something more bold, look to The Rolling Stones Time Teller. The gold colorway offers a hint of glam to this watch collection, while the all-red version pays homage to the spiked tongue logo first made famous on t-shirts for the Voodoo Lounge tour.
The Rolling Stones 51-30 presents a sleek choice. In tribute to the band’s early London club shows, the bold, all-gold watch’s rock’n’ roll sundial provides an analog countdown to showtime.
And finally, adding a sense of modernity to the collection, The Rolling Stones Staple is a digital watch with bright yellow case artwork that was inspired by 1994’s Voodoo Lounge. It is made from Nixon’s Other People’s Plastic (material made from ocean plastic) and has a coin flip feature to help make tough decisions.
Adding room for customization, the collection also includes two Rolling Stones recycled NATO bands that feature the Tattoo You album or the band’s signature.
