In the ’70s, the town center of Los Altos was a respite for Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and CEOs. State and Main streets were home to staid coffee shops, hair salons and boutiques. Many agree the neighborhood might have been getting stodgy. Today, things are different. At least 20 recent businesses are fueling the revival of this six-block parcel.
In Los Gatos, life is good. Situated at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains—and just 18 miles from the Pacific Ocean—Los Gatos is all things Bay Area wrapped into one laid-back yet lavish town. Home to some 33,000 residents in 14 square miles, Los Gatos is unlike any other urban area within Santa Clara County.
