Modern Luxury is pleased to announce the hiring of Carolyne Zinko as the next editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Silicon Valley magazine. Zinko is a treasured voice in the Bay Area, where readers have come to know her as the chief style and culture reporter at the San Francisco Chronicle, where she has been a staff writer for the past 22 years.
A three-decade resident of Silicon Valley, who as a young journalist attended Stanford's Mass Media Institute, Zinko brings with her a vast network of connections within the Valley's tech, fashion, design, media, philanthropy, and arts communities. Starting her career at the Peninsula Times Tribune and the San Jose Mercury News, Zinko has covered every aspect of life in the Valley, from crime and court hearings to glamorous parties and larger-than-life personalities. She currently resides in Menlo Park with her husband Dan Dieguez, a personal trainer.
"We cannot be more thrilled to have someone of Carolyne's intelligence, taste, and experience leading this magazine," says Jon Steinberg, group editor of Modern Luxury Silicon Valley. "She doesn't just have her finger on the pulse of Silicon Valley—she embodies the place. She's enterprising, innovative, fast-moving, and, most of all, incredibly fun. She's a perfect fit for Silicon Valley, and it's a perfect platform for her."
Zinko succeeds founding editor-in-chief Anh-Minh Le, who has ably lead the magazine since its launch in 2016. Le will continue on as a contributing writer to the publication, with her cover story on Hollywood director Jon Chu ("Crazy Rich Asians") gracing the forthcoming September issue, Zinko's first as editor-in-chief.
