Earlier this year, the winery’s owners purchased a 17-acre Calistoga property formerly owned by renowned Bay Area socialites and art collectors Norah and Norman Stone. The estate, which is not yet open to the public, will serve a prominent role for the boutique winery known for its 100-point cabernet sauvignon. In addition to an 1887 farmhouse, 4-acre vineyard, redwood grove, outdoor entertaining spaces and a hydro-heated art cave, the property holds “Stone Sky.” The mind-blowing piece—equal parts interactive sculpture and pool—was designed by legendary artist James Turrell (jamesturrell.com), a founder of the California Light and Space Movement. The artwork perfectly symbolizes Memento Mori’s sky’s-the-limit ambitions.
