Making a Spectacle

Carolyne Zinko Carolyne Zinko | April 18, 2019 | Story Now In National

Is that you behind those Foster Grants? Oops. Those stylish reading glasses are made by Flutter Eyewear, the creation of Silicon Valley business partners Patti Lee-Hoffmann and Gayle Haworth, whose wares have been described on the Today show as “the Manolo Blahniks of readers” and have been spotted on Cynthia Bailey of TV’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Kelly Rutherford of Gossip Girl. All frame styles (eight times the price of drugstore readers at $85 to $95 per pair) are named after literary characters. Agatha and Christie are both new this spring and come in the types of statement-making bold colors and shapes popular with Bay Area creative types. And, now, maybe you.
