Food & Drink Story Eat and Drink
September 13, 2018 |One of Los Altos’ favorite coffee bars, Red Berry, built its reputation on premium joe from the likes of Chromatic, Four Barrel, Verve and Stumptown, along with Belgian waffles and quiches. Now, it’s added flavor-packed, nutritious and innovative menu items, courtesy of consulting chef Anthony Kresge.
Take the Bagel Bar—a toasted bagel with prosciutto, fig jam, hazelnuts, ricotta salata, roasted shallots and fennel—for a spin, or dive deep into the Farmer’s Bowl—brimming with farro, black beans, artichoke hummus, sweet potato hash, poached egg, tomatillo salsa and pumpkin seeds. Love crunch? Go for the crispy Cabbage of Sorts, topped with sesame-crusted tofu, blistered peppers and kimchi dressing. Kresge even elevates avocado toast with a plump poached egg atop Panorama walnut bread, decked with chutney and chickpeas. Perfectly composed, the new dishes complement the cafe’s well-crafted coffees. 145 Main St., Los Altos
