Stagecraft has been part of Aliyah Turner's life since she was 3. This winter, the Bay Area dancer reveals her acting chops opposite Patina Miller, Hailey Kilgore, Mekai Curtis and London Brown in the third season of Starz's Power Book III: Raising Kanan. She portrays Krystal, a Bronx diva whose life's goal is stealing the spotlight. We caught up the with Hollywood triple threat after a day on set.
Best life advice you’ve received?
My late father told me to chase my dreams, follow through and have faith. This has always been at the forefront of my mind, no matter life’s fluctuations.

Be kind to everyone.
When are you happiest?
When I’m experiencing new things with loved ones— whether going to a jazz club performance, eating delicious meals or traveling to a new country.
Your greatest weakness?
Movie theater popcorn with an extra three layers of butter. Yikes.
Your greatest fear?
Bungee jumping. Why do people do that? How do people do that?

Favorite place to hang out in SF?
Every year for the holidays, my family takes a trip to the Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory (ghirardelli.com) for ice cream sundaes. We also go to the long-standing bar and restaurant The Buena Vista (thebuenavista.com). We adore their famous Irish coffee.
