Iconic Indian Motorcycle launches two new bikes that will bring you and your child closer than ever before.
The new FTR R Carbon motorcycle and first-ever kids minibike make quite a pair.
Perhaps the only thing better than the open-air experience of riding an American-built motorcycle is doing so with your son or daughter. Indian Motorcycle is now making it easier than ever for parents to share their passion for the open road with the dual launch of its new FTR lineup of motorcycles and its first-ever kids minibike, the all-new eFTR Jr ($750) electric minibike.
For the adults, Indian’s new FTR models feature a revised engine management system for smoother and more predictable throttle response, along with a new rear suspension that offers not only a smoother ride, but also a lower seat height, making it easier to get on and off. The range-topping FTR R Carbon (from $16,999) sets itself apart whether parked or on the go, with carbon-fiber trim, flashy gold-painted shocks and special badging to showcase the 1200cc motor. Powering the FTR range is an exhilarating 120-horsepower liquid-cooled V-twin engine that sounds as good as it feels between your legs.
Indian Motorcycle’s FTR R Carbon boasts carbonfiber bodywork and numbered carbon badging.
But why keep all the fun for yourself when you could share your passion for motorcycles with your son or daughter? Indian’s new eFTR Jr electric minibike makes it easy to hand down your love of motorcycles to the young, aspiring riders in your family. The all-new electric minibike is uniquely styled to make young riders feel like they’re a member of the iconic Indian Motorcycle Wrecking Crew that dominated flat track racing in the 1950s and continues to bring home championships to this day. With two ride modes, low and high, the eFTR Jr can easily accommodate riders of all skill levels.
The R Carbon boasts a class-leading 87 foot-pounds of torque and 120 horsepower.
Powering the eFTR Jr is a 36-volt rechargeable battery that will run for 140 minutes in low mode at 10 mph and 65 minutes in high mode at 15 mph. The thrill of this minibike for kids is palpable, and your son or daughter will no doubt remember their first ride on this incredibly well-built minibike. Plus, being battery powered, the eFTR Jr requires practically no maintenance, making it a no-fuss bike that keeps you on the trails and not in the shop changing oil. But perhaps the most rewarding aspect of the eFTR Jr is the look on your child’s face when they unwrap this one-of-a-kind minibike and realize their hero is you.
