TAKE IT OUTSIDE
New Orleans-inspired food and drinks can be savored in the courtyard at NOLA.
Just as longer days and warmer weather raise one’s spirits, so too does an impressive array of happy-hour spots with outdoor seating. Here’s a toast to a few Valley faves.
1. Blue Line Pizza
Beloved for its pizzas, the seasonal cocktails—like the new Italian Sunset, made with prosecco, Iris Liqueur and loganberry liqueur—are another draw at this San Carlos eatery. Appetizers are half-off during happy hour. Mon.-Fri., 3-6PM, 650.610.0200
2. Doppio Zero
Order a $5 sparkling rosé and prosecco along with small plates of pastas or the 6-inch Diavola (“devilled” pizza with spicy salami, basil and arugula), while people-watching in downtown Mountain View. Mon.-Fri., 4:30-6:30PM, 650.938.4147
3. Milagros
This Latin-inspired Redwood City restaurant boasts two tequila bars. Try the house sangria or the Tijuana Donkey, a twist on a Moscow mule with tequila instead of the more traditional vodka. Mon.-Fri., 3-5PM, 650.369.4730
4. Nola
The next best thing to being in the Big Easy! Enjoy the barrel-aged sazerac and the vodka-infused back-porch ginger lemonade. Also not to be missed at this Palo Alto establishment: the chicken and biscuits appetizer, complete with bacon jam and pickle chips. Mon.-Fri., 3-6PM; Sun., 9PM-midnight, 650.328.2722
5. TasteVin
The happy hour offerings vary weekly, with a wine menu that spans the globe. In addition to a glass of one of the San Carlos restaurant’s most popular reds or whites ($8 to $10), there’s a robust cheese and charcuterie plate. Tue.-Fri., 3-6PM, 650.486.1740
