How do you find the restaurants you want to visit in a new city or the recipes you want to try at home? Why not Instagram?
There are 92.1 million posts featuring the hashtag #foodstagram, and with drool-worthy pictures and reel video formats, it's become an ideal platform for all your food updates.
There are way too many food accounts out there, and you might have already followed the famous few. NYT Cooking or Infatuation make total sense, but it’s time to change things up.
We scoured Instagram to find the most unique and exciting foodie accounts on the platform. These aren't your usual zoomed-in food pics. These photos will make your mouth water, but they'll also blow your mind.

Quite possibly one of the most popular foods in the world, pasta is delicious, and it isn’t a surprise someone has decided to dedicate an entire Instagram account to this single dish. This account features any and all pasta dishes you could possibly imagine, from homemade pasta to spicy fusili from Jon & Vinny’s in Los Angeles, cacio e pepe from Padella in London, lasagna from Don Angie in NYC—the list is endless. The best part? @Pasta is run by Infatuation, which means we get up-close-and-personal shots of these scrumptious pasta dishes that make us want to slurp up the noodles right then and there.
Starring Jane Hardy’s (and everyone else’s) favorite food—noodles. Her recipes will help you whip up any pasta dish in under an hour or less. You'll soon learn that cooking pasta is easier than instant noodles and a hundred times tastier. Use this opportunity to go from amateur chef to pasta connoisseur. A huge bonus to brighten your day? Her punny captions.
This is perhaps the most adorable food Instagram to exist. Account owner Mike J. Chau is the father to three adorable children who you will see in the background of each one of his posts. Sometimes they’re rolling their eyes at a fried chicken burger, smiling big at a box of donuts, or sleeping in a food coma. It's worth a follow as much for their reactions as it is for the mouth-watering food photos from New York restaurants, and occasionally other locations.
Attention all college students and everyone who lives in a big college city or near a university. Spoon University has all the details on college-town favorites. Find out what comfort foods, hangover brunches, and desserts college kids rave over, then try it yourself.
Tina Choi is a TikTok star with more than 900,000 followers, but her Instagram is also a hidden gem. She specializes in Korean food and posts daily reels with short tutorials to make easy-to-difficult recipes. Cooking feels so easy with Tina, because the process is separated into very short, one-second clips. If you’re unfamiliar with cooking Korean food, you can give it a go with her recipes (and as Tina says: “Don’t yuck my yum,” or don’t judge a book dish by its cover). Her signature eye roll of awe as she eats the final product will make you want to lick your screen on the spot.

If you thought this list would feature the classic food-only Instagrams, think again. If you want to study at a cafe while enjoying high-quality coffee and brunch in New York, this is the account for you. Melissa Male's feed features a beautiful spread of cafe tables with pastries, lattes, yogurt bowls and avocado toasts. Our favorite part of Melissa’s account: the aesthetic. Who doesn’t love a gorgeous brunch spread? Even if you hate brunch (but why would you?), scrolling through her feed will give you the peace of mind.
As her Instagram bio suggests, Tieghan Gerard gives you all the recipes for good food. As the author of a New York Times Bestseller cookbook, Gerard's recipes are catered towards her entire family. She develops her own recipes with a unique, @halfbakedharvest touch, and the recipes cover drinks, appetizers, dinner menus, sandwiches, and desserts. If you’re looking for something a little special or preparing for a big family dinner with guests of all ages, Gerard has you covered.
Where you eat your food is just as important as what kind of food you eat. Food In The Air will give you the vicarious experience of fries at a baseball stadium, guac at the beach, truffle pizza on the ski slopes, and beyond—because their food photos are always in the air! Someone holds a meal up to feature the scenic or tourist-friendly background of the location or restaurant. Not only will this account stoke a craving for dishes around the world, it gets the travel juices flowing. It's food with a view!
Java chip Oreos, Kit Kat ice cream, doughnut pizzas? You probably didn’t know these desserts existed, but you’re missing out! With Donuts, Cookies, and Cream, you can stay on top of any and all after-dinner sweets. You won’t miss a single thing, and you’ll thank us for it.
