In case you live under a rock (or perhaps a cave), there’s a new Batman movie hitting theaters this weekend. The Batman stars Robert Pattinson in the all-black suit, working opposite Zoe Kravtiz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler and Colin Farrell as Penguin.
Directed by Matt Reeves, the man behind Cloverfield and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the new film is being touted as a grittier, darker take on the D.C. icon, and it’s certainly not the first time that’s been said.

According to a recent report by eBay, the trailer inspired way more searches and sales of classic American muscle cars like the Dodge Challenger by a total of 9 percent year-over-year. A current listing for the car is priced at $112,900, in case you’re feeling frisky—but the Batman impact doesn’t stop there.
When he’s not whipping bad-guy butt in what are definitely not hockey pants, Bruce Wayne rides around Gotham City in a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. That special little car saw a spike in gross merchandise volume (GMV), by more than an astounding 560 percent year-over-year. If you’re looking, there’s one listed on eBay right now for $129,000, because if you can’t wear a utility belt and save the world like Batman, you might as well drive around like him.
