How does a TV-favorite actor turned mezcal mogul celebrate their birthday? With good cocktails at a great restaurant surrounded by even greater friends, of course.
On Aug. 31, Dos Hombres co-founder and Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul celebrated his 43rd birthday at Lavo Ristorante and The Fleur Room in Los Angeles. As one would expect, there were plenty of Dos Hombres cocktails making the rounds.
Paul co-founded Dos Hombres with Breaking Bad co-star and longtime friend Bryan Cranston in 2019. What began as a passing suggestion over a sushi dinner in New York City has turned into the production of top-selling mezcal. After its second year on the market, Dos Hombres became the No. 1 selling mezcal in BevMo! and as of April was No. 6 in North America for mezcal sales.
Lucky Angelenos can stop by the new Sunset Strip hotspots to try out La Piña at The Fleur Room and the Sicilian Cartel at Lavo Ristorante— two exclusive commemorative cocktails featuring Dos Hombres mezcal.
But even if you aren’t in Los Angeles, you can still celebrate like the Emmy Award winner by whipping up your very own La Piña or Sicilian Cartel.
For a tropical cocktail, opt for La Piña, which forefronts pineapple and lemon flavors. Meanwhile, the Sicilian Cartel centers on grapefruit, lime and habañero zing. See the full recipes below.
