Silicon Valley Magazine co-hosted an intimate soiree and book signing for New York Times best-selling author Julian Guthrie’s book, Alpha Girls, at Modernism West on May 7th to celebrate the April/May issue cover stars. Guthrie’s book examines the personal and professional lives of four pioneering female venture capitalists, Magdalena Yesil, Mary Jane Elmore, Sonja Perkins and Theresia Gouw, who each made deals of a lifetime but experienced challenges in Silicon Valley’s male-dominated venture capital world. Some 150 friends, family members, and fans of the Alpha Girls enjoyed bubbly and bites at Martin Muller's gallery within Foreign Cinema restaurant. Editor-in-Chief Carolyne Zinko and Guthrie invited the Alpha Girls to share stories about pivotal career moments that shaped the tech industry. The evening concluded with a book signing and a toast to the incredible women.
