Luckily, The Peninsula is fortunate to count Franco Másoma and his eponymous Los Gatos boutique as a go-to for custom pieces. “All of our garments are custom,” says Másoma. “The fitting, the fabric selection, the thread and the buttons are all chosen for a specific customer in the consultation. No other brand makes clothes to fit a personality.” Másoma knew from the start that he was destined for fashion, and cites nature as a major inspiration for his designs. “Fashion found me,” he explains. “Growing up, I was always inspired by nature. I dreamed of wearing these colors that I would find in nature, and specifically flowers. Fine garments and fashion are a great way to share nature’s beauty with others.” That love can be found in all of Másoma’s pieces, including a new category: masks. “We’ve been providing free, handmade masks to the people of Los Gatos,” he says. “But also, customers who buy from us get a specially made mask to match the fabric of their purchased garment.” Here, the fashionable tailor—who describes his style as bold, vibrant and well-fitted shares his tips on how to dress well.
