San Francisco's food scene is hotter than ever. Follow these 11 Bay Area chefs on Instagram to stay in the know.
A Michelin-starred pastry chef and creator of the artsy food magazine Toothache, Nick Muncy is undoubtedly worth a follow. Peep his Insta for drool-worthy pics of delectable treats, including sneak peeks of upcoming issues and delicious promotions of his dessert subscription box Drool.
Benu chef Corey Lee’s impressive career spans over 25 years, including his training in traditional French cooking under Thomas Keller at The French Laundry. Lee’s accolades include two James Beard awards, and he currently works as a goodwill ambassador for his hometown in Seoul.
The only female chef in the U.S. to achieve three Michelin stars (at Atelier Crenn) tops our follow list. More recently, chef Crenn joined the creative team for the Netflix film The Menu, acting as a consultant for Ralph Fiennes’ character and creating the dishes showcased in the movie.
Chef Tanya Holland is no stranger to the spotlight. The Oakland-based restaurateur has competed on Top Chef, hosted Food Network’s Melting Pot, appeared on the HBO Max show Selena + Chef with Selena Gomez, and currently hosts Tanya’s Kitchen on the OWN network as well as a podcast with various celebrity guests (think Questlove, Ayesha Curry, Danny Glover and more).
Chef and television personality Melissa King boasts 15 years of industry experience, working under Dominique Crenn (see her on this list!) and Ron Siegel; she’s also cooked for A-list celebs and politicians (Oprah and Al Gore, to name a few). Not only does chef King post mouthwatering food pics, but she also champions multiple LGBTQ charities.
Born and raised in San Francisco, the chef-owner of Mister Jiu’s in Chinatown finds inspiration in his late grandmother’s Cantonese cooking. After studying Chinese cuisine in Shanghai, Jew returned to SF to open the contemporary resto to thorough fanfare. His socials boast a healthy mix of culinary excellence, family photos and travel inspo.
Thai chef and restaurateur Pim Techamuanvivit started as a famous food blogger in 2001, eventually opening Nari, Kamin and the Michelin-starred Kin Khao restaurants in SF and acting as executive chef of Nahm in her hometown of Bangkok. Her Instagram features homemade meals, farmers market finds and more.
This list wouldn’t be complete without chef Tyler Florence. The owner of Miller & Lux in Chase Center and Wayfare Tavern, Florence has hosted multiple Food Network shows and written more than 10 cookbooks. His feed features frequent celebrity diners and exclusive restaurant news.
Since 1982, chef Martin Yan has hosted over 3,500 episodes of his legendary PBS show You Can Cook, inspiring millions of gourmands to try their hand at the culinary arts. Yan’s page is a vibrant celebration of his Asian heritage and gives insight into his latest projects, including a Youtube cooking show.
Kathy Fang, chef and co-owner of Fang, is the daughter of the House of Nanking chef-owner Peter Fang. Fang has created a legacy, cooking by day and blogging by night. Her feed is an appealing mix of food, family and travel content guaranteed to inspire. We love the food she preps for her kids every day!
